These terms cover the use of NameForge, a free name generator toolset. Using the site means agreeing to the points below, written in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
Using NameForge
NameForge is free to use for personal or commercial projects. Each generator runs entirely in your browser, so there is no account to create and nothing to sign up for.
What NameForge does and does not claim about a generated name
NameForge asserts no ownership over anything you generate here and reserves nothing. As far as this site is concerned, a result is yours to put on a character sheet, in a story, on a gamer tag, or above a shop door.
That is the only claim made. In particular, NameForge does not represent that any generated name is unused, unregistered, available as a domain or handle, or free of an existing trademark. Every generator here assembles ordinary words and common sound patterns, which means it will produce real surnames, real trading names and taken handles by coincidence, and it has no way of knowing when it does. No name on this site is checked against any trademark register, company register, domain registry or platform database.
Responsibility for those checks is yours. Before trading under a generated name, search the relevant trademark database and company register yourself, and confirm any handle with the platform.
No warranty
NameForge is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Names are produced by randomised rules and word banks, and while every effort goes into making them sound right for their genre, we cannot guarantee a result is free of an unintended meaning, an existing trademark, or a resemblance to a real name or brand.
Advertising and outbound links
No advertising currently runs on NameForge and no advertising script is loaded. If that changes, ads may be served by third-party networks such as Google, and the cookie and consent details for EEA and UK visitors are covered in the privacy policy. The commercial generators carry outbound links to registrar and platform searches; those are plain links carrying no affiliate tracking, as set out on the disclosure page.
