Privacy policy

NameForge is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts and no sign-up forms. This page explains what does happen when you use the site, including how cookies and any third-party advertising work.

Name generation happens in your browser

Every generator on this site runs entirely on your own device. When you forge a batch of names, nothing is sent to a server: the names are computed in your browser and exist only on your screen. We never see, store, or log what you generate.

Favourites live in local storage

When you star a name, it is saved to your browser's local storage on your own device so it is still there next time you visit. That data never leaves your machine. Clearing your browser data for this site removes it permanently.

Cookies, analytics, and third-party ads

NameForge itself does not need cookies to run its generators. When the site shows advertising, those ads are served by third-party partners, such as Google, and those partners may set cookies or use similar technology on your device to serve ads and measure how well they perform. The site may also use analytics to understand traffic in aggregate. If you visit from the EEA or UK, a consent banner asks you to give or decline consent before any non-essential cookie is set, in line with GDPR and UK data protection rules, and you can change that choice at any time through the same banner.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel's infrastructure may process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to serve pages and protect against abuse. See the Vercel privacy policy for details.
